My Story
I was a firm but loving and caring grandmother, mother, aunt, sister, daughter, businesswoman, friend and matriarch who enjoyed traveling and good food.
Early on
I was a 3rd generation Indo-Fijian born in Ura-Estate Taveuni in 1930. I met my other half while on the island. He was a Punjabi-Indian immigrant named Bhagat Singh Punia. Together we had 13 wonderful children who we raised on the island. Once our children were old enough we immigrated to the United States.
Later years
After the passing of my husband I became the head of the family however, my children had all grown to be adults and I could spend my time helping to raise my grandchildren.
I loved them all.
